Zhamanak Yerevan newspaper editor Arman Babajanyan was released from the Convicts’ Hospital on August 4, at 16:30. The doctors have found a tumor in his brain and claim that his state is gradually deteriorating.

Arman Babajanyan had been sentenced for 3.5 years of imprisonment for faking documents and avoiding military draft. Arman Babajanyan’s term shall end on September 16. However, the Criminal/Executive Service took into account the appeals of the doctors, journalists and human rights advocates, freeing him ahead of time.

According to Arman Babajanyan and his lawyer, Babajanyan is losing his eyesight and needs urgent surgery.
